Neurofilaments are composed of three intermediate filament proteins: light (~68kD), medium (~160kD) and heavy (~200kD), which are involved in the maintenance of the neuronal caliber. Neurofilament medium runs on SDS-PAGE gels in the range 145-170kD, with some variation in different species.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 1:5000-1:10,000 Immunocytochemistry: 1:1000-1:2000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Recombinant fusion protein corresponding to extreme C-terminal segment of rat Neurofilament Medium.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder in 5% trehalose. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O.
