XK, XKR1, XRG1, Membrane transport protein XK, Kell complex 37kD component, Kx antigen, XK-related protein 1

This locus controls the synthesis of the Kell blood group 'precursor substance' (Kx). Mutations in this gene have been associated with McLeod syndrome, an X-linked, recessive disorder characterized by abnormalities in the neuromuscular and hematopoietic systems. The encoded protein has structural characteristics of prokaryotic and eukaryotic membrane transport proteins.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot and FLISA. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: PE conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide mapping to a fragment of residues within amino acids 83-111 in the N-terminal region of human XK. Species Sequence Homology: mouse and rat.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. No preservative added. Labeled with R-Phycoerythrin (PE).
Purity
Purified by Protein A and peptide affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human XK.
