N-(2-Benzoylphenyl)-L-tyrosine PPARγ Agonist; (2S)-((2-Benzoylphenyl)amino-3-[4-[2-(methylpyridin-2-ylamino)ethoxy]phenyl]propionic acid

Potent and subtype-selective (>1000-fold) PPARgamma agonist. Angiogenesis and apoptosis inhibitor. Anti-inflammatory. Anti-hyperglycemic and anti-hyperlipidemic agent. GW1929 is an antidiabetic; the glucose-lowering effect in rats is 100-fold more potent than that of troglitazone.
