Potent and selective PPARgamma agonist with no activation of PPARalpha and PPARdelta. Anti-diabetic agent with potent glucose-lowering effects and decreasing insulin resistance in adipose tissues. Stimulates adipogenesis. Apoptosis and cell cycle arrest inducer in several cancer cell lines. Anti-inflammatory. Inhibits vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) migration.
