mRNA export is a process that is tightly coupled to mRNA splicing (1-4). Splicing of mRNAs and the packaging of mRNAs in the form of mRNA-protein complex (mRNP) leads to the recruitment of the mRNA export adaptor THOC4/ALY via its interaction with the splicing factor UAP56, forming a large complex termed transcription-export complex (TREX) (1,2,5). THOC4/ALY then directly interacts with NXF1/TAP, a part of the heterodimer that targets the mRNP to the nuclear pore complex, resulting in the shuttling of mRNP out of the nucleus to the cytoplasm (1-3,6).

Applications
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunofluorescence(Immunocytochemistry): 1:400 Western Blot: 1:1000. Incubate membrane with diluted antibody in 5% w/v BSA, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween-20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight. Immunoprecipitation: 1:50 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ala192 of human THOC4/ALY.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in 10mM sodium HEPES, pH 7.5, 150mM sodium chloride, 0.1mg/ml BSA, <0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol.
Purity
Purified.
Specificity
Recognizes endogenous levels of total human THOC4/ALY. Species Crossreactivity: mouse, rat, monkey.
