Amyloid beta-protein (Abeta) is associated with neuronal injury and death in Alzheimer's disease. These proteins are the main components of amyloid plaques.
Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunofluorescence/ Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 Immunofluorescence (IC): 1:1000 Immunoprecipitation: 1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues GLMVGGVV from b-Amyloid.
Form
Supplied as a liquid, 0.05% sodium azide.
Specificity
Recognizes b-Amyloid. Species crossreactivity: human and mouse. Does not cross-react with beta Amyloid 42.
