The beta Amyloid peptide is derived from the cleavage of the Amyloid precursor protein and varies in length from 39 to 43 amino acids. Beta amyloid peptides are the major constituents of the plaques and tangles that occur in Alzheimer's disease.
Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to aa1-14, DAEFRHDSGYEVHH, of mature human beta amyloid, conjugated to BSA.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder in PBS, pH 7.4. Reconstitute with 100ul sterile ddH2O.
Specificity
Recognizes human beta Amyloid. Species crossreactivity: rabbit.
