APG16 L1 plays an essential role in autophagy. SUBUNIT: Homooligomer. Interacts with ATG5. Part of either the minor and major complexes respectively composed of 4 sets of ATG12-ATG5 and ATG16L1 (400kD) or 8 sets of ATG12-ATG5 and ATG16L1 (800kD).

Applications
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunofluorescence: 1:100-1:3000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:100-1:3000 Western Blot: 1:100-1:3000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Cellular Localization
Cytoplasm. Preautophagosomal structure; preautophagosomal structure membrane; peripheral membrane protein. Localized to preautophagosomal structure (PAS) where it is involved in the membrane targeting of ATG5.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to the N-terminal of human ATG16-L1 protein conjugated to Blue Carrier Protein.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder. Reconstitute in 100ul of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Purity
Serum
Specificity
Recognizes human ATG16 L1. Peptide Sequence Homology: mouse, rat, S. cerevisiae, Macaca mulatta (monkey) and Canis familiaris (dog).
