PDCD12 (Programmed cell death 12), also referred to as AVEN, represents a new class of cell death regulator. PDCD12 is a conserved intracellular membrane protein that blocks apoptosis impeded by Apaf-1 mediated caspase activation. Bcl-2 and BAD also interact with PDCD12 to prevent apoptosis. It is expressed in a wide variety of normal tissues including heart, skeletal muscle, kidney, liver, testis, and diseases such as cancer Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 1:1000-3000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Hybridoma
Hybridization of mouse F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant human PDCD12 protein.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Recombinant human PDCD12 (254-362aa) purified from E. coli
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 0.09% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human PDCD12 (Programmed cell death 12, AVEN).
