Suitable for use in ELISA, RIA and Immunohistochemistry. Not suitable for Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
ELISA: Apparent binding constant from titration curves is 0.1nM. Can be used as capture or reporter antibody for determination of collagen I or III in sandwich ELISA, but requires combination with collagen type-specific antibody for other function. Immunohistochemistry (frozen tissue fixed with acetone or ethanol): Staining pattern similar to polyclonal antibody to interstitial collagens. Formaldehyde fixation is not recommended. Not suitable for use on paraffin embedded sections. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Human collagen type I. Epitope: Interstitial
Form
Supplied as a liquid in 0.1M sodium chloride, 0.01M sodium phosphate, 0.01M sodium borate, pH 7.5, 0.1% mannitol, 0.1% dextran.
Purity
Purified by affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human collagen types I, II and III (both native or denatured). No crossreactivity with human plasma proteins, other collagen types or noncollagenous proteins in ELISA, RIA or immunoblot.
