Ficolin-2 is a lectin that contains fibrinogen-like and collagen-like domains. It circulates as a tetramer of disulfide-linked homotrimers. Ficolin-2 associates with MASP proteins to activate complement.
Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Direct ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: This antibody can be used at 1-2ug/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect human Ficolin-2. Using a colorimetric detection system, the detection limit for rhFicolin-2 is approximately 25 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions. Use of this antibody under reducing conditions is not recommended. Chemiluminescent detection with Chemiluminescent Detection Substrate will increase sensitivity by 5 to 50 fold. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile PBS and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
NS0-derived rhFicolin-2
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder in PBS, 5% trehalose. Reconstitution: Reconstitute with sterile PBS. If 0.2ml of PBS is used, the antibody concentration will be 500ug/ml.
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human Ficolin-2. Does not crossreact with rhFicolin-3.
