FOXP2, otherwise known as Forkhead box P2, a highly conserved member of the FOX family of transcription factors, which plays an essential role in brain and lung development. Studies have revealed the importance of FOXP2 in mediating the development of speech and language, and mutations in the human FOXP2 gene have been linked to developmental verbal dyspraxia.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
ELISA: 1:32,000 Western Blot: 0.5-1.5ug/ml, human brain (cerebellum) lysates observed on ~80kD bands Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to C-REIEEEPLSEDLE, from human FOXP2, at C-terminal. Species sequence homology: Bovine, canine, mouse, porcine and rat.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in Tris saline, pH 7.3, 0.5% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human FOXP2.
