Human leukocyte-associated Ig-like receptor-1 (LAIR-1) is a 40kD cell surface molecule that functions as an inhibitory receptor on natural killer cells, monocytes and T cells. LAIR-1 is also expressed by other hematopoeitic cells including B cells, but is not expressed by non-hematopoietic, platelets or erythrocytes. Reported to inhibit NK cell triggering via CD16 molecules (1).

Fusion Partners
Spleen cells from immunized mice were fused with cells of the P3U1 myeloma cell line.
Applications
Flow Cytometry 1:50-1:100 Immunoprecipitation Western Blotting: Detects a band of approximately 40kD (1). Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 10 e6cells in 100ul.
Recommended Secondary Reagents
F(ab')2 Rabbit anti mouse IgG: FITC F(ab')2 Rabbit anti mouse IgG: RPE
Recommended Negative Controls
Mouse IgG1 Negative Control
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
NK cells lines B12.100 and AM.25
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 0.09% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography from tissue culture supernatant
Specificity
Recognizes human leukocyte-associated Ig-like receptor-1 (LAIR-1), 40kD. Reported to inhibit NK cell triggering via CD16 molecules (1).
