Myocardin (MYOCD) is a transcriptional co-activator necessary for differentiation of smooth muscle cells. MYOCD functions by binding the transcription factor Serum Response Factor (SRF) and stimulating smooth muscle cell-specific gene expression.
Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: 1ug/ml detects lysates of MCF-7 human breast cancer cell line, Raji human Burkitt's lymphoma cell line, HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma cell line, and C2C12 mouse myoblast cell line. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to Met97-Leu290 of human Myocardin expressed in E. coli.

Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, pH 7.4, 5% trehalose. Reconstitute with 200ul sterile PBS.
Purity
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography from hybridoma culture supernatant. Endotoxin: ≤0.1EU/1ug (LAL).
Specificity
Recognizes endogenous human Myocardin. Species Crossreactivity: mouse
