D-Phenylalanine, the stereoisomer of L-Phenylalanine has been used in the synthesis of Schaeffer’s acid analogues as important structures in tuberculostatic design, which exhibits the ability to inhibit Mycobacterium tuberculosis type II dehydroquinase.
