Inhibits signal transduction by increasing the GTPase activity of G protein alpha subunits thereby driving them into their inactive GDP-bound form. Binds to G(i) alpha-1, G(i) alpha-2, G(i) alpha-3 and G(q) alpha.

Applications

Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Recommended Dilution

ELISA: 1:16,000 Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml, observed in human peripheral blood mononucleocytes on ~28kD bands Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.

Storage and Stability

May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide corresponding to CNEFQDVQSDVAIWL, from human RGS18, at C-terminal (NP_570138.1).

Supplied as a liquid in Tris saline, 0.02% sodium azide, pH 7.3, 0.5% BSA.
