serotonin 5-HT-7 receptor, OTTHUMP00000020079, OTTHUMP00000020078, OTTHUMP00000020077, 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 7, 5-HT7, 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) receptor 7 (adenylate cyclase-coupled), HTR7

The neurotransmitter, serotonin, is thought to play a role in various cognitive and behavioral functions. The serotonin receptor encoded by this gene belongs to the superfamily of G protein-coupled receptors and the gene is a candidate locus for involvement in autistic disorder and other neuropsychiatric disorders. Three splice variants have been identified which encode proteins that differ in the length of their carboxy terminal ends

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Peptide ELISA Titer: 1:16,000 Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml; ~50kD band observed in lysates of cell line KELLY (calculated MW of 49.5kD according to NP_000863.1). An additional band of unknown identity was also consistently observed at 37kD. This band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to QNADYCRKKGHDS, from the C-Terminus of human Serotonin Receptor 7 (NP_000863.1.).
Form
Supplied as a liquid in Tris saline, pH 7.2, 0.5% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by peptide affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human Serotonin Receptor 7 (HTR7). Expected to recognize isoform a (NP_000863.1) only.||
