WIF-1 is a secreted protein that binds Wnt proteins and antagonizes Wnt-induced signaling. WIF-1 expression is down regulated in several human cancers.
Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: 1ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 8-25ug/ml; Used to detect WIF-1 in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded human breast sections. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to Gly29-Trp379 from human WIF-1, expressed in NSO cells
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, pH 7.4, 5% trehalose. Reconstitute with sterile PBS.
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography from hybridoma culture supernatant
Specificity
Recognizes human Wnt Inhibiting Factor 1. Shows less than 5% crossreactivity with recombinant mouse WIF-1.
