CD79b molecule, immunoglobulin-associated beta, also known as CD79B (Cluster of Differentiation 79B), is a human gene. By fluorescence in situ hybridization, It is mapped to 17q23.3. The CD79B protein together with the related CD79A protein, forms a dimer associated with membrane bound immunoglobulin in B-cells, thus forming the B-cell antigen receptor (BCR) which is a multimeric complex that includes the antigen-specific component, surface immunoglobulin (Ig). CD79b also can enhances phosphorylation of CD79A, possibly by recruiting kinases which phosphorylate CD79A or by recruiting proteins which bind to CD79A and protect it from dephosphorylation.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml, the detection limit is ~0.25ng/lane under reducing conditions. Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 0.5-1ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 0.5-1ug/ml, boiling the paraffin sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 20 mins is required for the staining of formalin/paraffin sections. Immunocytochemistry: 0.5-1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to human CD79b expressed in E. coli. (Position: A29-E229). Species sequence homology: mouse (70%)
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, 5% BSA, 0.05% sodium azide. Reconstitute with 200ul sterile dH2O.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human CD79b. Species Crossreactivity: mouse and rat
